How to unlock the administrator menu on a ZKTeco time clock
If the person who set up the clock left and the menu asks for an administrator fingerprint or password, you can regain access without losing stored attendance records.
When pressing M/OK on a ZKTeco clock shows a padlock or asks for "Admin Affirm", it means a user was saved with the Administrator role. While locked, the clock prevents anyone from opening Network or Cloud Server Setting (ADMS).
If the clock is on your local network, the cleanest way is to clear administrator privileges from software already paired with the device, or use the date-and-time temporary technician login on classic firmware (or request an admin privilege reset from your supplier, which clears only the role while keeping employees and punches intact).
Once inside the menu, go to User Mgt. › All Users, select the user with the Admin role and change it to Normal User (or enroll your own fingerprint as Admin). Then open Comm. › Cloud Server Setting, enter acceso.ezgym.net and manage everything from EzGYM.
How to set it up
- 1 Create your free EzGYM account.
- 2 Under Attendance › Clocks, connect your ZKTeco clock with ADMS to the server acceso.ezgym.net.
- 3 Add your employees with their number and schedule.
- 4 See the day and the month, and download the Excel for payroll.
Frequently asked questions
Does clearing administrator privileges delete attendance logs?
No. Clearing admin privileges only removes the menu lock; fingerprints, employees and stored attendance punches stay in the clock's memory.
Should I set a new administrator after connecting the clock?
Yes, it is good practice to register your own fingerprint or a password noted in EzGYM so nobody on site changes the time or WiFi settings.
Once connected to acceso.ezgym.net, do I need to touch the clock again?
Only to enroll a new employee's fingerprint or face. Names, schedules, grace periods and Excel reports are all managed from EzGYM.
