Free temperature monitoring

Free MQTT broker for your temperature sensors

Point your WiFi sensors (Shelly, ESP32 with ESPHome or Tasmota) at our Mosquitto server and monitor the cold chain of your cold rooms, fridges and freezers from your phone, with email alerts. Free with EzGYM.

Free Mosquitto, already running

A ready Mosquitto MQTT broker with a username and password per sensor. No server or Raspberry Pi to keep running.

Temperature alerts

We email you if a cold room or fridge goes out of range for longer than the minutes you choose, when it recovers and if the sensor stops sending.

Charts and history

Each sensor's live temperature and its chart from 6 hours to 30 days, with the allowed range marked. Readings are kept for 90 days.

Cheap WiFi sensors

Works with Shelly, ESP32 or ESP8266 with ESPHome and Tasmota devices, with DS18B20, DHT22, SHT31 or BME280 probes.

Works even in a power cut

If the sensor stops sending (power or WiFi outage), you get an alert: exactly what you need to avoid losing stock overnight.

Each sensor isolated

Each sensor logs in with its own username and can only publish to its own topic. Nobody sees another account's readings.

How to get started

  1. 1 Create your free EzGYM account.
  2. 2 Under Sensors, add a sensor with its temperature range.
  3. 3 Enter the server, username and password in the sensor's MQTT settings.
  4. 4 See the live temperature and get alerts.

Compatible sensors

Any sensor that lets you choose the MQTT server, for example:

  • Shelly H&T
  • Shelly Plus H&T
  • Shelly Plus 1 + Add-on DS18B20
  • Shelly Pro
  • ESP32 / ESP8266 + ESPHome
  • Sonoff + Tasmota
  • NodeMCU + Tasmota
  • DS18B20 · DHT22 · SHT31 · BME280

Stock Tuya and Sonoff devices send their data to the manufacturer's cloud and cannot be redirected: flash them with Tasmota or ESPHome.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really a free MQTT broker?

Yes. The Mosquitto broker, sensors, charts and email alerts cost nothing with EzGYM. There is a maximum of 30 sensors per account.

Which temperature sensors work?

Those that let you set your own MQTT server: Shelly (H&T, Plus H&T, Plus 1 with Add-on), ESP32 or ESP8266 with ESPHome and Tasmota devices.

Does it work for the food cold chain?

Yes: cold rooms, display fridges and freezers. It alerts you if the temperature goes out of range and if the sensor loses power or WiFi. It is a monitoring tool; records required by health authorities depend on each location.

Can I use it for humidity?

Yes. When you add the sensor you choose temperature or humidity, with its own range.

Do I need to open ports or have a static IP?

No. The sensor goes out to the internet and connects to our server; it only needs WiFi with internet.

How often should the sensor send?

One reading per minute is enough. If it sends more often, we keep each minute's average, minimum and maximum.
