Free MQTT broker for sensors: a HiveMQ alternative
An MQTT broker only receives messages; you still have to store them, chart them and build alerts. With EzGYM the broker already comes with all that, for free.
HiveMQ Cloud and other cloud brokers have free plans for any MQTT use, but they are just that: a broker. To monitor temperature you still need a database, a chart and something that alerts you.
EzGYM is a Mosquitto broker built for temperature and humidity sensors: each sensor has its own username and password, and its readings are kept for 90 days, shown on a chart and trigger email alerts if they go out of range or the sensor stops sending.
It is not a general-purpose broker: each sensor publishes only to its own topic and readings must be temperature or humidity (Shelly, ESPHome or Tasmota). For other MQTT uses, a general broker is a better fit.
How to set it up
- 1 Create your free EzGYM account.
- 2 Under Sensors, add a sensor with its temperature range.
- 3 Enter the server, username and password on the sensor (Shelly, ESPHome or Tasmota).
- 4 See the chart and get email alerts.
