Free temperature monitoring for butcher shops

The cold room and the display case cannot fail at night: with a WiFi sensor connected to EzGYM you get an email if the temperature rises or the power goes out.

In a butcher shop, a compressor failing on a Sunday is lost stock. With a cheap WiFi sensor (Shelly, ESP32 or Tasmota) in each cold room and display case, EzGYM receives the temperature every minute.

You give each sensor its range, for example 0 to 4 °C for fresh meat or -25 to -18 °C for frozen, and the minutes it must stay out before alerting. That way opening the door to load does not flood you with alerts.

The chart keeps 90 days: it helps you see if a unit is struggling and show that the cold chain was kept.

How to set it up

  1. 1 Create your free EzGYM account.
  2. 2 Under Sensors, add a sensor with its temperature range.
  3. 3 Enter the server, username and password on the sensor (Shelly, ESPHome or Tasmota).
  4. 4 See the chart and get email alerts.

Frequently asked questions

Which sensor should I buy?

A WiFi one that lets you choose the MQTT server: a Shelly H&T, a Shelly Plus 1 with a DS18B20 probe or an ESP32 with ESPHome.

Will it alert me if the power goes out?

Yes. If the sensor stops sending for longer than the minutes you choose, you get an email.

Is it valid for health inspections?

It is a monitoring tool with a temperature history. The records each authority requires depend on the location.
