Automatic cold chain and fridge temperature log
Stop writing down fridge or cold room temperatures on paper twice a day: with a WiFi sensor connected to EzGYM every minute is logged automatically and you get alerted if the power goes out.
In pharmacies, butcher shops, ice cream parlors, supermarkets and restaurants, keeping a paper temperature log taped to the fridge door has two flaws: busy staff forget to fill it out during the day, and if a compressor fails or the power goes out on a Sunday night, a sheet of paper alerts nobody.
By connecting an affordable WiFi sensor (such as a Shelly H&T, a Shelly Plus with a waterproof DS18B20 probe inside the fridge, or an ESP32) to ezgym.ddns.net on EzGYM, temperature and humidity are recorded every minute for 90 days with minimum, maximum and average values.
You set the allowed range for each unit (for example 2 to 8 °C for vaccines and medicines, 0 to 4 °C for fresh meat and dairy, or -18 °C for freezers) and the grace minutes for door openings. If the temperature stays out of range or the sensor stops reporting due to a power or WiFi outage, you receive an email alert before stock is spoiled.
How to set it up
- 1 Create your free EzGYM account.
- 2 Under Sensors, add a sensor with its temperature range.
- 3 Enter the server, username and password on the sensor (Shelly, ESPHome or Tasmota).
- 4 See the chart and get email alerts.
Frequently asked questions
How is EzGYM better than a paper temperature log sheet?
A paper sheet has two manual readings per day; EzGYM records 1,440 readings per day automatically and emails you if cooling fails overnight.
How does it detect a power outage if the shop WiFi also goes off?
Because the EzGYM cloud server checks that each sensor keeps reporting. If your sensor goes silent for longer than your chosen grace period, our cloud server sends the alert even when your building has no power or internet.
Is there a monthly fee per sensor?
No. You can connect up to 30 temperature and humidity sensors for free with EzGYM.
